Double Bay Backyard Transformation

Welcome to our Double Bay backyard transformation, where we stripped the entire yard and rebuilt the space from the ground up as part of a complete outdoor landscaping package. Working closely with the client from the early stages, we developed a layout that suited how they wanted to use the space day to day creating an outdoor area that feels open, inviting and naturally connected to the house.

The main entertaining area was built using Millboard decking in the Limed Oak colour, finished with a curved step detail that transitions smoothly into the lawn. Around the boundary we installed a 42mm x 18mm cedar batten screen, fixed with stainless steel screws and spaced with 5mm gaps to create a clean vertical finish that frames the space. A travertine French pattern walkway runs through the backyard connecting the outdoor area back to the house, introducing a natural stone element.

And another centre piece was the custom spiral staircase with travertine inserts that leads up to the balcony, linking the upper level back down to the outdoor entertaining area. Throughout the project we combined natural stone, composite decking and cedar timber, bringing together materials designed to handle the outdoors while keeping the space balanced and refined. The result is a backyard designed to be used and enjoyed.
